Tim is a qualified solicitor (now non-practising) and CEDR accredited Civil & Commercial mediator.
Tim has significant experience of advising businesses and individuals on collaboration, ecosystems and partnerships. He focuses on helping technology and tech-enabled businesses develop collaboration strategies for market-changing products and services, and building the internal and external cultures that enable such change. He also advises non-profits on collaboration strategies for fundraising, campaigning, research and delivery.
Tim began his career by training and qualifying as a solicitor in 2003 at City law firm Allen & Overy, where he practised intellectual property law within the Communications, Media and Technology team. He moved in-house to Symbian, a UK tech joint venture between Nokia, Psion and others in the mobile industry, before joining Google in 2007, where he became joint head of legal for the UK and Ireland. In 2008 he was asked to join Google’s fledgling Android team to lead strategic partnerships, becoming Android’s first business person outside the US and only the second on the team. In this role for the next 7 years he led the launch and scale-up of Android in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, building a team that has delivered billions of euros in new revenue, acquiring hundreds of millions of new users for Google, through a network of thousands of industry partners.
